    10" 406-8Cs

Pair 10 inch Altec Lansing 406 8c Woofer Speakers Vintage 3 inch Voice Coil | eBay

I have yet to hear or test out one of these drivers, but from the specs that I've been able to find, it looks like these would be a pretty good deal at the minimum bid.
I compare them to the AC 250 although the AC goes a bit higher and of course has way more power handling.

I would bet with that big motor and 3" VC, the 406-8C is a pretty impressive smallish driver. Anyone here have/heard one?

Used in the later Boleros and Maderas.

Many Altec enthusiasts feel these are the BEST sounding small Altecs, period. They do sound good.

IMO, Segovia wipes the floor with them from the bottom to the top of the audible spectrum. I'll take the 3-way Altec all day long. The 406 can't touch the Segovia's dynamic force woofer low bass extension, and i don't know of anything Altec made that plays as smoothly to beyond hearing limits as the Philips polycarbonate tweeter used in the Segovia.
